The Department of Chicana/o Studies at the University of California, Davis invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in Chicana/o Studies. This recruitment seeks a scholar of Chicana/o History with a specialization in Chicana/o Movement History. Candidates with innovative and interdisciplinary approaches in the field of Chicana/o Studies will be preferred.  The successful candidates will have a strong research agenda and demonstrate potential for innovative, interdisciplinary, social justice approaches to Chicana/o Studies. Successful candidates should be able to teach, with excellence, undergraduate courses in Chicana/o history, Chicana/Latina Feminisms, Qualitative Research Methodologies, Oral Histories/Counter-Storytelling, and Decolonial Thought. Ph.D. in Chicana/o Studies or related field must be completed by the first day of courses (September 21, 2016).  Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise as scholars and teachers.
