POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Sociology (https://sociology.ucsd.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are inviting applications from scholars specializing in international migration. We are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and welcome applicants who study societies in any region of the world, including those with expertise and can teach courses in Chicanx and Latinx Studies (CLS) and Latin American Studies (LAS) Applicants will be expected to teach courses and mentor at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. We invite applicants of a wide variety of theoretical and methodological approaches to join our ranks with an innovative research program and commitment to outstanding teaching.

Applicants must have strong research accomplishments and have experience or a willingness to participate in teaching, mentoring, research or service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications (Required at Time of Application)
Applicants who are ABD in Sociology or related field.
Additional qualifications (Required at Time of Start)
A completed PhD by the time of the position start date, in Sociology or related field.
