The Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies, in coordination with the Center for Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in the intersectionality of ChicanX, LatinX, and Mexican American Studies with Gender, Women's, and/or Sexuality Studies to begin in Fall 2018. It is our hope that this position will strengthen relations between the department and the center and that the successful candidate will be able to utilize the resources held in the Benson Latin American Collection for research support.
 

Salary and rank are competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications
The selected candidate should have a Ph.D. in hand by start of employment, demonstrate a successful publishing and research trajectory, and have a solid teaching record or a teaching philosophy that helps to ensure student success.  This candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, hold an active research agenda, publish actively, direct dissertations, MA reports, and honors theses, attract external funding, and exhibit a commitment to service to the department and center, college, and university.
