Bios
Raoul Contreras recieved Ph.D in Political Science from UCLA in 1993. Wrote his dissertation on "The Ideology of The Political Movement for Chicano Studies." A member of NACCS since 1984, a founding member of the original COMPAS caucus in 1985. NACCS national conference site committee in 1989 (Los Angeles) and 1996 (Chicago). Visiting Assistant lecturer in Chicano Studies at the University of California, Riverside, 1989-1993. Teaches and directs program in Latino Studies at Indiana University Northwest, 1994-2003.
Jose Moreno is a graduate student at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in the Chicano Studies Dept. He has a BA in History and Chicano Studies from CSUN. Moreno, was a co.-founder of the Committee on Raza Rights and an Editorial Board Member of the Raza Press Association. He has been a community activist for the last nine years in the Oxnard Califas area. Jose has organized and participated in various conferences, forums, marches, and pickets all over Occupied Mexico/Aztlan. He has published various articles and book reviews for student and community publications. He is committed for the development of community-based scholarship in the field of Chicano Studies. Jose's goal is to help to established and developed Chicano and Latino Studies programs around the United States and Latin America.
