2016 NACCS Chicana Caucus Student Scholarship

The Chicana Caucus of National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS) is composed of women and is concerned with gender equity and the needs and interests of women, heterosexual and queer. The caucus addresses issues of sexism and patriarchy in the association, in academia, and in everyday life. In the spirit of cultivating and nourishing mentorship, productive dialogues, collective empowerment, and networking, the NACCS Chicana Caucus Student Scholarship of up to $200 is given to two undergraduate and two graduate students confirmed by the NACCS Program Committee as participants on a session, panel, poster, or roundtable.

To be considered for this award, email (1) a 250 word letter of interest highlighting your academic and/or community engagement in the area of Chicana or Latina women’s issues and briefly addressing your financial need (2) a copy of the NACCS Conference acceptance letter and (3) a curriculum vitae (not applicable for undergraduate students) to each member of the committee by March 1, 2016. All awardees of the NACCS Chicana Caucus Student Scholarship must be members of NACCS and must have registered for the annual conference.
